Legal English language and skills course for corporate and commercial lawyers

A highly practical course to help you perform key functions of your work effectively in legal English. The course will expand your legal terminology and enhance  your use of it.

Course length

Three days recommended, but can varied for in-house groups.

A day consists of six full hours, a one-hour lunch break and two 15-minute refreshment breaks.

What does the course cover?

Legal English terminology with comparisons of US and British English:

  • Contracts, forming and performing
  • Business entities: different types
  • Companies: different types, forming a company, running a company, shares/shareholders, directors
  • M & A: public and private
  • Borrowing, security and insolvency


  • Discussing (generally, with comparisons between English and participants' laws)
  • Listening and reading (articles, laws and directives, agreements)
  • Advising
  • Negotiating
  • Drafting contract terms (introduction, with a focus on clear writing)
