Courses for lawyers
Currently live on line
For native and non-native speakers of English
Our online training is practical, interactive and engaging. On Zoom (or other client-preferred platforms), we share screens, jointly annotate documents, and use breakout rooms for work in ones, pairs and threes. And the trainer monitors the breakout-room work and group work throughout so that each individual receives as much attention as possible.
We therefore usually keep groups small for online courses. But please discuss numbers with us.
Course examples and testimonials below. All courses can be tailored, for in-house groups and one-to-ones. Native-speaker courses can also be tailored to suit non-native speakers.

What people say about our courses
Native speakers: solicitors and trainees
‘One of the best courses I have attended. Very impressed by Stella Styllis. The course covered everything I had hoped it would and the material provided will be a useful reminder. Many thanks!’
‘I thought it was one of the best training courses I have been on – really made me think, and I know it will make me think each time I tackle some drafting.’
‘Excellent content and immediately relevant. Excellent delivery of a course which may not immediately spark interest in potential candidates. Relevant and definitely useful.’
‘Trainer was excellent – very knowledgeable and conveyed that knowledge appropriately’.
Trainee solicitor, City law firm
‘The three online sessions were incredibly useful and practical, and have changed the style of my emails and drafting. The sessions worked well. We were able to speak in an informal way and express our particular concerns about our own writing, and Stella was very helpful in tailoring her approach to our specific needs and queries. I feel that I have developed some key skills as a result of the course, and am now able to approach drafting and legal writing in a more focused way.’
Partner, German law firm
‘It has been one of our best ideas to ask Axia Training when looking for effective and efficient language courses. In the tailored in-house training our property and construction, corporate and tax lawyers were taught general letter and email writing, grammar, telephoning, negotiating and presentation skills. Especially adjusted for the needs of our law firm, participants were also instructed in contract law terminology, contract drafting, legal writing and the drafting and amendment of various contract terms.
Alan Simmons’ dedication to the task and his professional expertise are exceptional. His creative methods and well adapted materials made everyone benefit from the courses.’
How does the Zoom training work?
On Zoom and (other client-preferred platforms), we share screens, jointly annotate documents, and use breakout rooms for work in ones, pairs and threes. The trainer monitors breakout-room work and group work and, along with the group, gives feedback.
We therefore keep group sizes small, usually to no more than 9 participants. (Please discuss greater numbers with us to see how we can accommodate them.)
